My God and My All
We are the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, of East Peoria, Illinois. In keeping with our Franciscan roots, our Sisters have been called to dedicate our whole selves to God through a life of prayer, service, and simplicity. Since 1877, the OSF Sisters have been committed to serving the sick, the poor, and all those the Lord sends our way with the greatest care and love.

Sr. Joyce Dura, O.S.F.

Special Honor to our dear Sister

We recently were informed of a special donation made to Catholic Charities in Chicago, by Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts football team, in honor of his late cousin, our Sister Joyce. You can learn more about Sister Joyce here.

Who We Are

Our Charism

The essence of our daily life and the spirit of our service comes from a unique love for the sick and poor, in whom we find the image of our Lord. We welcome everyone who comes to us for care.

Vocations

Called by Christ

No matter our stage in life, our Lord is calling us to know Him in an intimate, personal way and to carry out His plan for our lives, all for His honor and glory, and the salvation of our souls.
“I promise you, God, I will never turn anyone away you send to me for care.”

Life

A community at heart

United in Christ, our community prays together, eats together, works together, has fun together, and offers everything to the Lord in a spirit of loving cooperation.

Work

A privilege to serve

Through the grace of God, we have been given the special honor of expressing our love for the Lord and His children through our healing ministry. Honoring our founding spirit, we care for the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social needs of each person we serve in our apostolic works.

Made for Joy

Maybe you’ve heard Christ’s call to love, His call to joy. Maybe you want to learn more about vocations, but don’t know where to begin. Maybe you want to see our community for yourself. If any of these sound like you, we would be delighted to connect with you.
