Eucharist and Adoration

The Meaning and Importance of the Eucharist

The Eucharist, the Sacrament of Love, the sign of unity and the bond of charity, is the center of our religious Community. It is the outstanding means by which we can express in our lives, and manifest to others, the mystery of Christ and the real nature of the Church. The Holy Mass is what feeds us and unites us. Through it, with Christ, we daily offer ourselves to God.

Ways we live our Devotion to Christ in the Eucharist

  • We attend Mass every day with our Sisters.
  • At the moment of our religious profession we were offered to God by the Church in close union with the Eucharistic Sacrifice.
  • We often renew our vows privately after receiving Christ in Holy Communion.
  • We pray the Liturgy of the Hours and Rosary before Jesus, present in the Blessed Sacrament, either in the Tabernacle or Exposed in the monstrance.
  • We pray much of our private prayer in Chapel, in the presence to the Lord.
  • We have a weekly communal Holy Hour in each of our convents for our Sisters to adore the Lord exposed in the Blessed Sacrament.
"All who love the Lord with their whole heart, with their whole soul and mind, and with all their strength, (cf Mk 12:30) and love their neighbors as themselves, (cf Mt 22:39) and who despise the tendency in their humanity to sin, receive the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and bring forth from within themselves fruits worthy of true penance; How happy and blessed are these men and women when they do these things, and persevere in doing them because 'the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon them' (cf Is 11:12) and the Lord will make His home and 'dwelling place with them' (cf Jn 14:23)."

Prayer of St. Francis before the Blessed Sacrament

St. Francis told his brothers to pray this prayer upon entrance into the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

We adore You, Lord Jesus Christ,
here and in all Your churches in the whole world,
and we bless You,
because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.
