Totus Tuus Retreat Rapid City, SD

It was invigorating to see young girls so“on fire” about their faith. Girls from ages 12 to 18 had been to this camp, Totus Tuus, several times. Sr. Rose Therese and I were first timers along with some of the youngest girl attendees. It was conducted at Terra Sancta, a retreat center in the Black Hills of South Dakota near Rapid City.

Corpus Christi 2013

Sunday June 2, 2013 was the Feast of Corpus Christi. Traditionally in parishes and religious communities there is a public procession with the Blessed Sacrament to various outside altars. Eucharistic hymns are sung while processing and we also pray the Divine Praises. It is a most precious Feast set aside by Holy Mother Church in which we can publicly witness to our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Here is some more information on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

Memorial Day

Philippine Sea: Flag detail members stand at parade rest during remembrance ceremonyToday Americans celebrate Memorial Day, a day to remember our soldiers who fought for our freedom and paid the ultimate price. We should especially remember those who went missing and their families who may never know what happened to them, or have no closure in dealing with their deaths. May the families of all soldiers, especially the missing and the fallen soldiers know that they are in our thoughts and prayers this day and always. May God grant the families of the fallen and missing soldiers courage, strength, and every consolation.

Solemn Jubilee Mass and Renewal of Vows

Last Friday, May 17, 2013 we celebrated with our Sisters, Sister M. Noreen, Sister M. Loretta, and Sister M. Patricia their 50th, 60th, and 70th Jubilee.

The Liturgy was celebrated by Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, C.S.C. and many of the diocesan and religious order priests who serve in the Diocese. It was so rich in meaning and brought back to my mind the joy of the day of my First Profession.

During the Mass, all the professed religious were invited to devotionally renew our vows. We are so happy for our Sister Jubilarians. They are, and continue to be, an inspiration to us of love of and union with God and of steadfast fidelity to their vows.
