Discernment Retreat - Spring 2014

Looks like time has gotten away from me again. This article is about a month late. Oops.

Special thanks to the young women who came for the discernment retreat at our Motherhouse. We truly enjoyed having you, and we hope the retreat helped you with your vocation discernment. Thanks to Father Jeremy Freehill for leading us in the Holy Hour, hearing confessions and for his

talk. And thanks also to the Franciscans at St. Joseph Church for having the beautiful outdoor Mass with May Crowning and the reception afterwards. I wish I had pictures of that. Most of all thanks to God for bringing us all together, for blessing the time we shared and for the beautiful weather.

The retreat incuded talks on prayer, discernment, vocations, religious life and our community. The retreatants joined our Sisters in our regular prayers and meals. We had one special Holy Hour with confessions. Then, of course there was time to visit with each other, time for fun and free time for extra prayer, etc.

I hope to have our next one in the fall, but do not have a date set yet. If you subscribe to our newsletter or to our vocation event notification list, you'll get an email when we do have a date. There is also the St. Therese Discernment Retreat that we hold with a few other communities. That will be September 5-6, 2014.
